EU? Order from WiMo! STAND NOT INCLUDED!

Meet the ZERO!

Check out the MMX ZERO Bundle!

The MMX-ZERO (stand not included) is the brains behind the MMX!  It has all of the smarts for decoding and auto station iD, call sign auto-capture, micro-programming, type-ahead buffer and more of the MMX Morse Code Transceiver series, and includes the keyboard and a USB power cable.

Please read our blog on how to set up your transceiver.

The MMX, but without the transceiver!  So it is the perfect companion for your IC-7300, or whatever transceiver you have (OK, I admit, I am a biased 7300 owner). All you need is a KEY IN jack and a headphone out jack on your transceiver to interface to the ZERO.  You will also need to learn how to adjust your rig for 1300 Hz tone output.  You can find help on PreppComm Community for this, and there are a number of different ways to do it.

Do you need help decoding those fast senders?  Do you want a less stressful QSO?  Not only do we help you decode with the best decoder in the industry, but you will gradually learn to do so as well by way of cognitive association!  For sending, you can use a straight key, the built-in keyboard to Morse system with automatic station ID's and hand-offs, auto-CQ and station calls, plus the powerful RPL language for microprogramming.  And, you can get help and practice sending using the build-in decoder to listen to your keying in receive mode.  It will treat you as "just another station" and decode your signal, give you your speed, and tell you what other stations would think you had sent.  Great key training!

Another stress reducer!  The built-in typing speed test function sets your maximum transmit speed to match your typing speed!  This means that - even if the other guy can type or send at 35 WPM, but you can only type at 22 WPM, that is how fast you will go, enabling you to have time to partially fill the type-ahead buffer so you can relax and edit your keyboard mistakes, and have a little time to think about what you want to say next. A great stress reducer. Of course if the other station is sending at a lower speed, your ZERO will match them so they can decode you!

If you want to use a paddle or iambic key, an external keyer is required to convert your key to straight key or "pure Morse" output to feed into the ZERO.

So, up your game!  Get an MMX-ZERO attached to your station!  Don't forget to order our External Transceiver Cable Assembly to make it easy and neat to connect and integrate your station and the ZERO!  You will also need a USB to USB mini cable to provide 5V DC power from any USB power source (cable not included).

The MMX-ZERO comes with its own KEYBOARD, so you don't need to order one, unless you want a backup. Also note that the ZERO uses 5V power via a USB mini jack in the rear panel. It requires about 0.5 amps, so any USB power supply or USB connector on your PC should be fine.

Or, just buy the MMX ZERO Bundle! It contains everything you need, all in one discounted package!

Multi-Band Morse Transceiver

I supposed be receiving MMX-Zero Intelligent Morse Decoder/Encode but I got Multi Band Morse Transceiver instead. Not sure if it’s same as other item.

It's no often we make a big shipping mistake, but we did on this order. Considering the ZERO was ordered at regular price and we shipped an MMX 3-band transceiver on sale for almost the same price, we figured it was best to let the customer keep it. and yes, it is the same decoder. The primary difference is that it also includes a 3-band transceiver inside. We figured it was a great deal for the customer, so that's a wrap! Seems to me there is no reason for 3 stars - getting a deal should make it 5 stars, right?

MMX Zero and IC-705

Great build and will also work well according to the recenties, but I can't get it to work with the Icom IC-705. Copied the method of operation with the IC-7300 but it does not work. Someone told me the function 'BK IN' must be 'ON' in the transceiver but I can't find that anywhere in the description of the Icom and the MMX Zero (IC7300). So the zero is on the side unfortunately.

Dick, I am sorry you are having problems making it work with the Icom 705. Unfortunately, I don't have one, and thus, can't give you instructions. However, I do know that customers do use the ZERO with the 705. Break In is simplly the method where the transmitter automatically turns on when you press on the key. The other setting is getting the offset to 1300 Hz, with a combination of the tone setting and the receiver offset. The sum of these two must be 1300. So, if your tone setting is 600 Hz, then you need to set RIT or receiver offset to 700 Hz, to the total is 1300. Then, you are golden. Let me know if you have problems with these settings. Help can also be found on the PreppComm Community, at preppcomm.mn.co.

it works ok for rx but i cant get it to tx on my yaesu 710

MIke, I hope our conversation on getting the settings correct for your Yaesu work out. It has to be in CW mode, and it has to be set to single channel paddle aka straight key for input. I could hear the tone in the bacfkground over the phone - the MMX is sending out just fine.

Eric is awesome ; product is awesome ; There were some small learning curves , me being a nwbe , i just need to learn the abr in cw and adjst ing the nobs . FYI Yaesu RIT is CLAR

Thanks, Mike. Mike IS a verified buyer, but due to our POS terminal not working correctly, the system did not recognize him. Note that it is difficult for us to convert our settings based on the IC-7300 to other products - a Yaesu transceiver in this case. We now know Yaesu uses Clarify rather than RIT (Receiver Incremental Tuning) as the terminology for ofsetting the receiver frequency.
