The MMX Lifeline Experience
It is hard to describe the experience of using the MMX Lifeline. We eliminated the fumbling to open the case, due to the magnetic closure system by adding thumb presses on the lid to assist you. Once you get used to how to open the lid, the experience is truly awesome - especially if you have used a different setup for Morse code, such as an MMX with its separate keyboard and cable, a battery bank with its cable, a speaker or earbuds with their cable, and an SWR bridge with its cable. Isn’t it refreshing to know that you can Ditch all of that now?
* Only one piece to pull out!
* Everything built in
* Wire-less (no wires and plugs)
* Turn it on, put your hands on the keyboard
It immediately feels so RIGHT. So EASY!
Like it was always meant to be!
Once you experience it, your whole being screams "GOTTA HAVE IT!"
A Word from the Inventor and Creator of the MMX Lifeline
This product has been an idea in my mind, and then in various stages of development for three years. I had to learn how to model in 3D. I had to learn how to use a large 3D printer, and how to master all of the settings to get the result I wanted. But most of all, I had to figure out how to do a lid with a hinge! And how to make the lid snap shut! Oh, the number of different ideas that failed. The last idea was to use magnets. Oh, the number of magnets that were too weak and small. This is not an injection-molded machine - thus the precision of each piece is not exact. I had to learn how to compensate for that. There was a LOT of learning to bring this idea into reality, and then, ultimately, into your hands to enjoy. -- Eric, AF7YQ

The MMX Lifeline is an MMX, PLUS... EVERYTHING is built into a single package for your convenience and ease of use. Whether you’re at home or on the go you’re going to love your new MMX Lifeline
.
• The transceiver has all of the features of the MMX, with all three plugins installed (80, 40, and 20 meters).
• The power system can be charged via a USB 3.0 C connector
• From a folding solar panel included with your new MMX Lifeline
• Via an included AC USB wall plug
• Any USB 2.0 female connector. Power required for maximum charge rate: 5V at 2+ amps.
Battery level is displayed on the main screen, and the system will automatically power down when the battery voltage level goes to the minimum level specified by the battery manufacturer. Charging of course likewise does a careful process that limits the battery voltage and current maximums as specified by the manufacturer.
This BMS (Battery Maintenance System) feature prevents over and under charge, as well as preventing excessive current into or out of the battery system. Doesn’t it give you confidence to know that your MMX Lifeline system can always be ready to go when you are?
Isn’t it significant to know the MMX Lifeline has Dual Mode Support?
The MMX Lifeline also supports External Mode: connect to an external transceiver, using its receiver and transmitter instead of the built-in transceiver. Now, you are free to use ANY BAND your external transceiver works on! No more band limitations! And probably more power and perhaps a better receiver, as well.
So, the MMX Lifeline is a dual function computer system, with three microprocessors combining their processing capability to give you the NEW standard in decoding ability, even in heavy noise and the NEW standard in encoding ability with:
• Frequency memories
• Automatic station ID
• Call sign capture
• You also get type-ahead buffer and auto speed control
• A typing test built in
• PLUS, micro-programs aka macros.
Audio and RF Power
While there is a built-in speaker amplifier and speaker, a headphone jack is also provided, which, when used, it disconnects the speaker. Earbuds are also included for your convenience.
The high-power mode increases the power output (and reduces the battery charge more rapidly). Expect to see from 50 to 75 percent more power output in this mode, up to 5-6 watts, depending on band and frequency within the band. A single letter H or M for high and medium indicates the power level on the main screen.
And an Auxiliary Connector
The auxiliary connector includes the Transmit/Receive line for controlling an external RF power amplifier, and CW IN and CW OUT lines for use by external devices to assist the deaf, blind or other physical limitations. It also includes the KEY IN line, also available on the KEY IN/OUT jack.
MMX Lifeline GO Bag Portable!
TheMMX Lifeline is packed into a small, easily carried case, with powerful magnetic closures. it weighs slightly over 3 lbs. (3.14 to be exact), and is a mere 11 ½ inches wide, 8 ½ inches deep, and 2 ¼ inches high in the rear.
The MMX Lifeline includes:
• Your Folding Solar Panel
• Your Mini GoBag, as shown in the photo
• Plus USB 3.0 cable
• USB Power Cube
• Plus, ear buds
Altogether it only weighs about 4 lbs. Pen not included.
The cable connects either:
• The Folding Solar Panel for charging from the sun
• Directly from AC via your included USB Power Cube
• Any USB 2-Amp output for charging
• An external battery pack with a 5.0 V USB output
• A laptop with a USB output
Isn’t it satisfying to know you can Charge your MMX Lifeline anywhere you go? If you want to carry extra power that does not require sun power, consider our two battery systems or our solar battery.
Battery Life and Care
The battery system includes four Li-Ion 21700 5000 mAh batteries. Because of the built-in BMS, (Battery Maintenance System) no particular care is required. At end of life, the batteries can easily be replaced.
Operating time with the built-in batteries: receive-only mode, over 80 hours. Mixed use with typical transmit/receive ratios, over 40 hours. So, for a typical maximum use per day of 4 hours, that is 20 days and 10 days - quite a good margin for a weekend or hike into the woods.
Isn’t it comforting to know that you don't even need the PreppComm Solar Battery or the Folding Solar Panel, unless you are out in the wild for a long time, or forget to turn off your MMX Lifeline, for example.
The total weight of your MMX Lifeline & GO Bag with the solar panel and other included accessories is only about 4 lbs.
Isn’t it fantastic that your MMX Lifeline battery life is measured in years?
We anticipate you shouldn’t start seeing a gradual decline in charge capacity until after 2-3 years, and useful life out to 10 years.
NOTE: Your new earbuds are not shown in the image. Also included is a microfiber cloth which is ALWAYS recommended for cleaning the screen on your new MMX Lifeline.
NOTE: some cosmetic improvements will be implemented in production units, and photos will be updated.
